Prayatna

Prayatna is running a Livelihood Program for Women in Muzaffarpur, Bihar since 2003. We have been working with over 200 young women and have provided skill development programs in stitching and knitting to them. Since the inception of our work, over 250 young girls and woman have become self-employed who are working from home with their sewing machines.

We are also working with over 300 farmers in Muzzafarpur where we are organizing them into groups and motivating them to form their own producers’ company very soon. We have engaged with the farmers by providing them with training on various topics like organic farming, soil testing etc. We are also encouraging them to do collective market linkages to increase their profits.
