Covid has taken a toll on everyone however the communities which were hit the hardest were migrant labourers, daily wagers, and workers from the informal sectors. While the pandemic has led to widespread losses in jobs and incomes for the informal sector workers, frequent lockdowns have further choked almost all the economic activity.

Prayatna, Project Umeed Welfare Foundation, Project Eka Foundation and Kkidwai Foundation have been working in collaboration for several years for the upliftment of the marginalized communities through their livelihood support programmes in rural and interior parts of India.

Building Back Livelihood initiative supported the hard-hit communities through livelihood support programmes, small business set-ups, financial and food/ration assistance.
