Prayatna became the first organization in Delhi-NCR to run a skill development vocational training supported by NSDC for transgender community. As part of the programme 150 transgenders from Delhi and Noida were provided with training on Tailoring, and Beauty aesthetician.
Before initiating the project, a survey was conducted to understand the interest areas of the beneficiaries. Fashion designing and beauty training were observed to be the major interest areas. Prayatna engaged with professional beauticians and designers to provide training to 150 transgenders on both the locations. The training was imparted over a period of three-month. The beneficiaries were trained on the various aspects of both beauty training such as make up, hair styling, manicure, pedicure, types of facial etc. Similarly, in designing, they were trained on stitching styles, designing skirts, shirts, salwar etc.
